The “one anothers” are given to us so we can build churches full of love, grace, and growth in the Lord. In this teaching, we dive into the book of Ephesians to explore a command that seems simple on the surface but carries significant weight for the health of the local church body.

In Ephesians 4:32, the Apostle Paul instructs believers to be kind and compassionate to one another. While the world often talks about random acts of kindness or simple politeness, the biblical definition goes much deeper. As we study the original language of this text, we discover that the word for “be” actually suggests a process of “becoming.” It is a call for every Christian to keep growing and progressing in a gracious spirit, regardless of where they are currently on their spiritual walk.

Drawing from a Calvary Chapel perspective, we emphasize the importance of looking at the character of God as our primary example. The kindness Paul describes here is the same “easy” yoke Jesus spoke of and the same richness of God’s kindness mentioned in Romans 2. Furthermore, the word for compassion used in this verse is quite rare, historically linked to the healthy functioning of a body. When we are kind and compassionate, the Body of Christ functions exactly as God intended.

This study offers practical ways to put these biblical principles into action. We discuss how to treat our time at church not just as a routine, but as an opportunity for “side quests” of obedience. This means actively looking for ways to put others first, welcoming new faces, and showing generosity to those around us. When we ask the Lord for opportunities to obey His Word, He is faithful to provide them.

Whether you are part of a Calvary Chapel or are simply looking for a deeper understanding of Jesus and the Bible, we hope this video encourages you to reflect the goodness and patience of the Lord in your daily interactions. Join us as we learn what it means to live out the commands of Scripture in a way that allows the church to thrive in the love of God.

Pray For One Another: Building a Stronger Church Life Through Prayer
Welcome to our continuing series on the New Testament’s “One another” commands. In this video, we open God’s Word to study one of the most essential aspects of Christian fellowship: the command to pray for one another. This practice is foundational for a healthy church life and is a direct command given to all Christians to shape how we relate to each other.

Why Corporate Prayer Matters
We focus on James 5:16, where we are assured that “the prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect.”

Many Bible-believing Christians, and even pastors (as a recent survey showed), may struggle with feeling satisfied or consistent in their personal prayer lives. We understand that this can be a difficult area of our Christian faith, but we also believe that God intends for prayer to be a gift, not a burden. The good news is that the only barrier is our willingness to simply go to the Lord, trusting Him to teach us to pray as we walk with Him.

This study explores why corporate prayer matters and the practical ways we seek to follow this command.

A Small Step of Obedience
In line with our belief that we should not just hear God’s commands but strive to obey them, we are inviting you to join us in a new, small step of faith. To encourage all of us to pause and lift up our church family and specific needs, we are scheduling a weekly notification through our mobile app.

We invite you to enable notifications to receive a simple reminder every Saturday at 4 PM to simply pause and join us in a moment of intercessory prayer. This is a simple, tangible way to put the command to pray for one another into practice, knowing that many of us are pausing together to go to the Lord.

Whether you are looking to study the Bible more deeply, are interested in Christianity, seeking to know more about Jesus, or are specifically searching for content from Calvary Chapel, we pray this study is an encouragement to trust God and grow in your prayer life.

We believe God is telling us the truth about the power of prayer in James 5 and hope you will join us as we seek to obey His Word more fully.

Honor One Another

Romans 12 tells us to take the lead in honoring one another. How does that square with humility and servant-heartedness? Should we be giving accolades to Christians in church?

Honor One Another | Romans 12:10 | How to Honor Others in the Church

There are 60+ “one another” commands in the New Testament. In this series, we explore what the Bible says about how Christians should relate to each other and grow together spiritually.

In today’s teaching, we dive into the meaning and application of Romans 12:10, which says to “take the lead in honoring one another.” What does the Bible mean by honor? And how can we apply this command in our lives today, especially within the church?

You’ll learn what honoring others really means and why it’s so important for Christian fellowship. We’ll examine how this command connects with biblical concepts like servanthood and humility, and why it’s not about seeking personal recognition or applause. Instead, we’ll see that honoring one another is about valuing and respecting other believers because of the work God is doing in them.

This message challenges us to shift our perspective from self-centered desires for recognition to actively seeking ways to value and uplift others in the church. We discuss practical, tangible ways to live out this command, such as putting others first in conversations and acknowledging the good works of God in their lives.

This Bible study is for anyone who wants to study the Bible and deepen their understanding of God’s Word. If you’re a follower of Jesus, a Christian, or just interested in spirituality and biblical teachings, this video is for you.

Join us as we continue our series on the “one another” commands and learn how to truly honor one another as the body of Christ. This teaching is from a Calvary Chapel fellowship and aligns with the verse-by-verse teaching style of Calvary Chapel pastors.
