Our text says Jesus “touched the open coffin.” He undoubtedly touched the corpse, lying as it was on an open stretcher. When Jesus purposely touched the corpse of the widow’s son, it would have blown their minds. It was something that just wasn’t done by a law-abiding Jew. (Pastor Gene Pensiero)
